Katherine W. Allen

HENDERSON — Mrs. Katherine Williamson Pendergrass Allen, age 71, a resident of 240 Flanagan Road, Henderson, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home.

Born on April 18, 1941, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late John Lewis Williamson and Cleo Boykin Williamson. Mrs. Allen was retired from Perry Glass Company.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Unity Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Calvin Hedgepeth and the Rev. Calvin Mills. Burial will follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Diane P. Crowder and Wanda P. Gill and husband, David, all of Henderson; four sons, Jimmy Pendergrass, Johnny Pendergrass and wife, Ginger, Wayne Pendergrass and wife, Diane, and Ricky Pendergrass and wife, Tonya, all of Henderson; one step-daughter, Linda J. Grissom and husband, Donnie; two sisters, Bonnie W. Creech of Kittrell and Marsha W. Randolph of China Springs, Texas; two brothers, Freddie Williamson, and John Henry Williamson, both of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willis Fleming Pendergrass and Wade “Dickie” Allen; two sisters, Peggy W. Jacobs and Sharon Rose Williamson; two brothers, Kenneth Williamson and Ronnie Williamson; and her son-in-law, Eugene Crowder.

The family will receive friends tonight, from 7-8:30 p.m., at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home at 240 Flanagan Road, Henderson.

Serving as active pall bearers will be Lee Gill,Jr., Lynn Pendergrass Jr., Jamie Pendergrass Jr., John Lewis Pendergrass Jr., David Williamson, Mark Williamson, James Williamson Jr. and Kenneth Williamson Jr.

Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.

Lucy H. Daye

HENDERSON — Lucy Bell Henderson Daye, 84, a resident of Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.

She was born in Mecklenburg County, Va., on May 7, 1928, to the late Frank Henderson and Margaret Hargrove Henderson.

She attended Mecklenburg County Public Schools and joined Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksville, Va. Later, she relocated to Vance County and joined Big Ruin Creek Missionary Baptist Church, remaining a member until her health declined.

She was married to the late Henry Lee Daye.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2. 20
13, at 1 p.m., at Big Ruin Creek Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Burwell officiating and Pastor Anthony Vickers presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include: one son, Andrew Henderson; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers: Henry, Elijah and Alex, all of Henderson, and Moses of Patterson, N.J.

A viewing will he held Friday, March 1, 2013, from noon-6 p.m., at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family is receiving friends at the home of Andrew Henderson, 109 Grey Fox Lane, Henderson.

WARREN COUNTY — Jonathan Lamar Jordan, 32, of Hickory (formerly of Warren County), died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, in Hickory.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 1, 2013, at 1 p.m., at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Manson. The Rev. Richard M. Henderson will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include: his son, Johad Jordan of Warrenton; and three brothers, Alonzo Jordan of Manson, Willie Thorne of Fayetteville and John Jordan Jr. of Tijuana, Mexico.

The body will be in view Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.

Ja’Quon T. Seward

HENDERSON — Ja’Quon Ty’Ree Seward, 17, of 710 Southerland St., Henderson, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.

He was born April 10, 1995, to Lakisha Eaton and James Seward. He was educated in Vance County Public Schools.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Progressive Faith Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Rosa Perry of Rock of Prayer Holiness Church officiating.

Survivors include his parents: Lakisha Eaton and James Seward; four brothers: Quon’trel Eaton, Tra’veon Cooper of the home, Darrian Cooper and Seletry Sneed of Henderson; one sister, Jayla Sneed of Henderson; his maternal grandmother; his paternal grandparents; and one great-grandmother.

A viewing will take place Friday, March 1, 2013, from noon-6 p.m., at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Bessie G. Wilkerson

HENDERSON — Bessie Gourley Wilkerson, 69, a resident of Hicksboro Road, Henderson, died at her home Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.

A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison Gourley, widow of Thomas Wilkerson, a member of Concord Baptist Church and retired from Apogee Medical Company in Youngsville.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, March 1, 2013, at 2 p.m., in Creedmoor Cemetery by the Rev. Jim Smith. Burial will be in Creedmoor Cemetery.
Surviving are a daughter, Rachel Sue Evans, and a son, David Harrison Evans, both of Henderson; her mother, Rachel Gourley of Stem; two sisters, Lillie Mae Hall of Florida and Shirley Neil Ellington of Stem; and one grandson.
