Katherine W. Allen

HENDERSON — Mrs. Katherine Williamson Pendergrass Allen, age 71, a resident of 240 Flanagan Road, Henderson, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home.

Born on April 18, 1941, in Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late John Lewis Williamson and Cleo Boykin Williamson. Mrs. Allen was a retired glass mechanic from Perry Glass Company.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Unity Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev Calvin Hedgepeth and the Rev. Calvin Mills. Burial will follow in the Williamson Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Diane P. Crowder, Wanda P. Gill and husband, David, all of Henderson; four sons, Jimmy Pendergrass, Johnny Pendergrass and wife, Ginger, Wayne Pendergrass and wife, Diane and Ricky Pendergrass and wife, Tonya, all of Henderson; one step-daughter, Linda J. Grissom and husband, Donnie; two sisters, Bonnie W. Creech of Kittrell and Marsha W. Randolph of China Springs, Texas; two brothers, Freddie Williamson and John Henry Williamson, both of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three grandchildren; and one step great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willis Fleming Pendergrass and Wade “Dickie” Allen; two sisters, Peggy W. Jacobs and Sharon Rose Williamson; two brothers, Kenneth Williamson and Ronnie Williamson; and her son-in-law, Eugene Crowder.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m., at J. M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home at 240 Flanagan Road.

Serving as pall bearers will be Lee Gill Jr., Lynn Pendergrass Jr., Jamie Pendergrass Jr., David Williamson, Mark Williamson, James Williamson Jr., and Kenneth Williamson Jr.

Arrangements are by J. M. White Funeral Home.

William E. Lane

AXTELL — William Earl Lane, 74, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at his residence.

He was a Granville County native born to the late William Wyatt and Vallie Boyd Lane. William was a foreman at Harriett-Henderson for 40 years and was a member of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church.

The Rev. Frank Sossamon will conduct graveside services at 2 p.m., today, at Brown’s Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Short Lane; his children, Donna L. Shields of Warrenton, George R. “Bro” Lane of Oxford and Betty L. Dickerson of Henderson; his sisters, Margaret Guill of Norlina, Jerri Dickerson of Oxford, Velma Daeke of Henderson and Bonnie Ayscue of Kittrell: his brothers, Kenny Lane, Charles Lane and Buck Lane, all of Oxford, and Grady Lane of Kittrell; and his grandchildren, William B. Shields III, Carrie Nichole Lane, Anna Danielle Lane, Camden L. Dickerson and Hannah Scott Dickerson.

The family will receive friends after the service today at Brown’s Baptist Church. Blaylock Funeral Home in Warrenton is handling arrangements and online condolences may be made at blaylockfh.com.

HENDERSON — Morris Jeffreys, 52, of 723 Water St., Henderson, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at his residence.

OXFORD — Delia Paschall Roberts, 100, of 2636 Bryans Hill Road, Oxford, died at her home Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013.

James E. Smith

WARRENTON — James Edward Smith, 80, of Warrenton, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton. The Rev. Don Stith will officiate.

Survivors include two sons, Derrick and Dennis Smith of New York; and one granddaughter.

The body will be on view Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.
