Carol A. Baker
LOUISBURG — Carol Ann Baker, 73, of Louisburg, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2013.
She was born Feb. 14, 2013.
Survivors include her daughters, Lydia and Scott Sullivan of Mooresville and Tina Jastrow of Wake Forest; sons, Henry Adkins III of Louisburg and Lee Adkins of Raleigh; sisters, Ruby Parrish of Selma and Anita Forbes of Rocky Mount; brothers, James Forbes of Waxhaw and Terry Forbes of Black Mountain; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, at 2:30 p.m., at Bunn Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Saturday, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the homeplace. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Wilbert L. Jones Sr.
VANCE COUNTY — Wilbert “Bill” Lee Jones Sr, died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.
He was the son of the late Walter and Piddid Johnson Jones.
He was educated in Vance County Schools. At an early age he joined the sandy Grove Baptist Church.
In 1999, he co-founded Fellowship Baptist Church, singing in the male choir, and acting as trustee and financial secretary. Then, in 2010, he joined St. James Baptist Church, singing in the male and mass choirs.
Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Jeanie G. Jones; one daughter, Barbara Bullock of Upper Marlboro, Md.; four sons, Wilber Lee of Long Beach, Calif., Walter E. Jones of Raleigh, and Tederal Harris and James M. Harris, both of Henderson; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Samuel Jones of Rahway, N.Y., and James Jones of Warrenton; three sisters, Verly Jones of Newark, N.J., and Dorothy Jones Kearney of New Jersey and Joseline Tulier of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was preceeded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m., at St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Wiliam Clayton officiating and interment in the church cemetery. Floral bearers are nieces and pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary bearers will be Kenneth Williams, Charles Marshall, William Daniels Louis Hargrove, Dwight Cousin and Randolph Jones.
The family will be at 280 Foster Road ext. and viewing will be Saturday, Feb. 17, 2013, from 2-8 p.m., at E.C. Terry’s Funeral Chapel.

Connie R. Robertson
KITTRELL — Connie Jean Rogers Robertson, 66, of 1181 North Chavis Road, Kittrell, died Feb. 12, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.
Born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Selma Howard Rogers.
She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School and was employed at Westchester Police Department, in White Plain, N.Y.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Kittrell First Baptist Church in Kittrell. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: her husband, Claude Robertson; one son, Peter Rogers; three grandchildren; and one brother, Donald Collins of Connecticut, N.Y.
A viewing will be held today, from noon-6 p.m., at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1181 North Chavis Road, Kittrell.

Fannie B. Sneed
HENDERSON — Fannie Bullock Sneed, 103, a former resident of 420 John St., Henderson, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Senior Citizens Nursing Home in Henderson.
She was born Aug. 30, 1909, to the late Frank Bullock and Rosa Jefferson Bullock in Vance County, she being the oldest of ten. Her siblings, Rosa Hanks, Effie Vaughan, Jessie Reed, Haywood Bullock, Frank Bullock and Nathaniel Bullock predeceased her.
She was educated in Vance County Public Schools. At an early age, she joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Manson,. She later joined United Presbyterian Church of Townsville, which merged with Cotton Memorial Presbyterian Church and she was actively involved with P.H. Parker Youth Fellowship, Vacation Bible School and the Women’s Association.
Sneed is survived by two sisters, Catherine Bullock Webster of Philadelphia, Pa., and Irene Bullock Irvin of Newark, N.J.; and one brother, Macy Bullock of Westfield, N.J.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Cotton Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Gordon Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The body will repose at the church until one hour before the service.
Viewing will be from 12:30-5:30 p.m ,at Williams Funeral Home of Henderson.

Elizabeth R. Van Zandt
KITTRELL — Elizabeth Roberson “Libby” Van Zandt, 53, of 5172 Raleigh Road, Kittrell, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at her home.
Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of Helen Catlett Norman of Louisburg and the late Archie Donal Roberson.
Van Zandt was a former bookkeeper for the Vance County Schools. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
No service is planned.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, John Franklin Van Zandt of Bracey, Va.; a son, Joseph Franklin “Joey” Van Zandt of Bracey, Va.; a sister, Dona R. Smith of Louisburg; and a brother, Archie Samuel Roberson of Henderson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, from 6-8 p.m., at the home of John E. Van Zandt, 901 Spring Valley Road, Henderson.
Flowers are omitted. Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church Youth Ministry, P.O. Box 178, Henderson, NC 27536.

HENDERSON — Meridith Vass, 80, of 513 Owen St., Henderson, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.
The family is receiving friends at the residence.

Frank W. Wortham
OXFORD — Frank W. “Squeeze” Wortham, 67, a resident of 407 Cherry St., Oxford, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Granville Medical Center in Oxford.
He was the son of the late AI and Jennie Wortham. He was educated in the Granville County School System and was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Survivors include; his wife, Mary Anderson Wortham; two daughters, Sharon A. Person of Henderson and Wanda Anderson of the home; one son, Frank W. Anderson of the home; four sisters, Brenda Wortham and Shirley Wortham, both of Henderson,Elise Wortham of White Plains, N.Y., and Mary Farrar of Queens, N.Y.; three brothers, Colonel Wortham and Al Wortham, both of Henderson, and Jimmy Wortham of Raleigh; 11 grandchildren and eight-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at 2 p.m., in the Betts & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with a eulogy delivered by the Rev. Charles Turrentine. Interment will be held at a late rdate.
