Ralph T. Ellington Jr.

OXFORD — Ralph Turner Ellington Jr., age 38, of 5043 Culbreth Road, Oxford, was killed in a motorcycle accident Sunday, April 14, 2013.

He was a native of Vance County and the son of Ralph Ellington Sr. and Judy Brodgen Ellington. He was a long time employee of Ellington’s Body Shop in Oxford and a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held today at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Chapel, at 2 p.m., by the Rev. Sam Brewer. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park, U.S. 15 North, Oxford. The family received friends Wednesday, April 17, 2013, from 7-8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Surviving along with his parents are a daughter, Torrie Lea Ellington of Roxboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly Ellington and Derek Stovall; and long time fiancée, Brooke Johnson of Creedmoor. He is also survived by a niece and nephew, Bryanna and Tyson Stovall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Dennis R. Temple

HENDERSON — Dennis Ray Temple, 64, of 3721 U.S. 1-158, Henderson, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at his home.

Born in Wilson County, he was the son of the late John Randolph Temple and Betty Moss Temple.

Mr. Temple was a former Supervisor at Harriet & Henderson Yarns. He was a member of Living Stones Church of God Worship Center.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Living Stones Church of God Worship Center, conducted by the Rev. Milton Abbott and the Rev. Robert Collier.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Abbott Temple; a daughter, Jennifer T. Helton and husband, Howard, of Stanley; a son, Danny Ray Temple and wife, Tonya, of the home; two sisters, Sidney Temple of Spring Hope and Linda T. Hardy and husband, Tim, of Sharpsburg; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Debra T. Brantley.

The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1-2 p.m., at Living Stones Church of God. All other times, they will be at the home, 3721 U.S. 1-158, Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living Stones Church of God Worship Center, 6096 Tabbs Creek Road, Oxford, NC 27565.

GREENVILLE — Leon Taylor, 53, a Vance County native, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Vidant Hospice Care in Greenville.
