STATESVILLE — Robert William Ott, 74, of Statesville, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
He was born on April 22, 1939, in Rocksprings, Wyo., to the late William Andrew and Betty Barrett Ott. He was married to Barbara McCoy Ott in December of 1984.
Bob graduated from Statesville High School and attended the University of North Carolina and N.C. State University. He served his country honorable as a member of the National Guard. He worked for Medcare Inc. for many years and then was self-employed with Medical Rehabilitation Services as a salesman until his retirement.
Mr. Ott is survived by his wife, Barbara; one daughter Teresa Freeman (Eddie) of Siler City; one step-son, John Barker (Cindy), of Charlotte; one step-daughter, Sheryl Barker of Charlotte; two granddaughters, Raelynn Freeman Seymour of Siler City and Kayla Comer of Charlotte; and one grandson, William Freeman of Siler City.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Bob Ott was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Corbell officiating. The family visited with friends prior to the service.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.

OXFORD — Brenda Adcock Huff, 63, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Duke University Medical Center.
Surviving are her husband, Archie L. Huff Sr.; a son, Archie Huff Jr.; a sister, Debbie Moss; two granddaughters and four grandsons.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Terry Howard. Burial will follow in Meadowview Memorial Park.
Visitation was held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday evening, July 22, 2013, at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.

OXFORD — Clara Bettie Fields, a resident of Universal Healthcare, died Friday, July 19, 2013, in Oxford.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 1 pm at New Hope Granville Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Loyd Carter Hawkins
LITTLETON — Loyd Carter Hawkins, 85, died Friday, July 19, 2013, at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Olive Grove Baptist Church in Littleton. Rev. Charles Walton will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body will be on view Tuesday, July 23, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.
