Lallah P. Dement
HENDERSON — Lallah Pritchard Tudie Dement, 95, of 184 Spain Road, Manson, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at a local nursing home.
Born in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Broomfield Pritchard and Anna Virginia Fleming Pritchard. She was the widow of Thomas Jackson Dement Sr. Mrs. Dement was a homemaker. Prior to her death she was the oldest living member of Liberty Christian Church.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 19, at Liberty Christian Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Ellen D. Briggs of Manson, and three grandchildren, Thomas C. Briggs of Richmond, Va., Eva Briggs Canada of Townsville and Richard Thomas Dement of Oxford.
The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall at the church immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Christian Church, c/o Mattie May, 1897 Epsom-Rocky Ford Road, Henderson.

Deva W. Paschall
MIDDLEBURG — Deva Wilcox “Blackie” Paschall, 85, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at her residence.
She was a Pamlico County native born to the late Thadeous Frank and Amanda Rue Hardison Wilcox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hal Beasley Paschall, her son, Hal Beasley Paschall, Jr., and her siblings, Jesse Wilcox and Nina Wilcox Parsons.
The Revs. Bill Haddock and Matt Robinson will conduct funeral services at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, at the Middleburg United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the family cemetery on Flemingtown Road.
Mrs. Paschall was a longtime member and bookkeeper at the Middleburg United Methodist Church, was a retired supervisor with the Vance County Board of Elections and served on the board of Cherry Hill in Inez.
She is survived by her daughters, Marae Paschall McGhee of New Jersey and Alfreda Paschall Gee of Wilmington; her granddaughter, Anne Marae Gee of Florida; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Middleburg United Methodist Church or to the charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the church from 9 to 11 a.m.

OXFORD — Edith Oakley Faucette, 84, died Monday, July 15, 2013.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 18, 2013, at West Oxford Baptist Church. Revs. Wes Garner and Wayne Clark will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadowview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home and at other times at 3710 Chewning Road, Oxford.

HENDERSON — Mary E. Magie, 87, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Universal Health Care in Oxford.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Progressive Faith Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at 880 Coble Blvd., Apt. 33, Henderson.
A viewing will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
