Pauline T. Cheatham
OXFORD — Pauline Thomasson Cheatham, 91, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at her home.
She was a native of Granville County and the daughter of the late Leo Bartrell and Sadie Averett Thomasson. Pauline was the wife of the late Sherwood Hester Cheatham.
Pauline retired from Pine State Creamery in Henderson, and was a lifelong member of Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church in Kittrell.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at 11 a.m., in Peace’s Chapel Baptist Church by the Rev. Bruce Brooks. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Cheatham and wife, Becky, of Oxford; daughter, Kay Yancey and husband, Marty, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; grandchildren, Karman Dubois and husband, Chris, of New Orleans, La., Kevin Cheatham and wife, Bonnie, of Henderson, David Yancey and wife, Stephanie, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Heather Scherer, Rebecca Dubois, Devon Dubois, Christina Walker, Justin Walker, Mia Yancey, Ella Yancey and Lila Yancey; brother, Nelson Thomasson and wife, Edna Mae, of Oxford. She was preceded in death by sisters, Christine Dement and Selma Paschall; and brother, Woodrow W. Thomasson.
The family will receive friends tonight, from 7-8:30 p.m., at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home.

Richard D. Carter
HENDERSON — Richard Dean “Ricky” Carter, 51, a resident of 134 Belle St., Henderson, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at his home.
Born on Nov. 4, 1961, in Grand Forks, N.D., he was the son of the late Andrew Thomas Carter and Patricia Ann Lindsay Carter. He was a medically disabled cabinet maker.
A private burial will be held by the family.
He is survived by one sister, Kristy C. Osterhout of Raleigh; and one brother, Andrew Charles Carter of Georgia.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m., at J. M. White Funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center, 101 Manning Drive, Campus Box #7600, Chapel Hill, NC 27599-7600.

Mary E. Green
NORFOLK, Va. — Mary Nell Eaves Green, 96, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Burlington.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Liberty Christian Church. Other arrangements will be announced by J. M. White Funeral Home.


Ernest L. Keith
STEM — Ernest Latlo Keith, 82, a resident of 3572 Silver Creek Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at the Veterans Hospital in Durham.
He was the son of the late Roger Keith and Emma Evans Keith.
He was a retired employee of the former Northern Telecom.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Rock Spring United Church of Christ in Creedmoor by the Rev. Viola Johnson and the Rev. Harold F. Trice. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include five daughters; Shirley Keith of New Bedford, Mass., Pearl Thornton of Stem, Lillie Keith of Henderson, Charlene Keith of Raleigh and Angela Henderson of New Haven Conn.; 11 sons, Lester and Sylvester Keith, both of New York, Emanuel Keith of Raleigh, Ernest Keith Jr. and Don Keith, both of Creedmoor, Dennie Keith of Georgia, Marlon Keith of Texas, Harvey Keith of Durham, Michael Keith of Pennsylvania and Shawn Keith of Henderson; 36 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors today, from 7-8 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the residence of Don and Tammy Keith, 208 Kathy Court, in Creedmoor.

Betty Perry
HENDERSON — Betty “Tippy” Perry, 61, of 252 New Bethel Church Road in Henderson, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Coley Springs Missionary Baptist church in Warrenton. The Rev. Clarence Dale will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: her husband, Norman Perry of the home; two daughters, Angela Townes Harris and Sandra Perry, and one son, Norman Perry, all of Henderson; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Cora Belle Ragland of Warrenton and Mary Ann Hargrove of Henderson; and four brothers, Jimmy Lee Townes of Warrenton, Larry Townes of Winston Salem, Clinton Townes of Henderson and Joseph Townes of Hampton, Va.
The body will be on view today, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.
Professional services have been entrusted to Boyd’s Funeral Services in Warrenton.


Scott A. Wade Sr.
HENDERSON — Scott Andrew Wade Sr., 47, of 8795 N.C. 39 S., Henderson, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Durham Regional Hospital in Durham.
Born in Erie, Pa., he was the son of Avalonna Gold Wade of Henderson and the late Raymond Morris Wade.
Wade was a commercial painter.
No services are currently planned.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Trisha Rose Wade of Girard, Pa.; a son, Scott A. Wade Jr. of Girard, Pa.; and a brother, Michael D. Wade, of Henderson. He was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Sue Wade.
The family will receive friends at the home, 8795 N.C. 39 S., Henderson.
Flowers are omitted. Memorials may be made to the church or charity of one’s choice.
