Mary A. Dillard
WARRENTON — Mary Agnes Alston Dillard, 92, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her residence.
Her parents, Morton W. and Mamie White Alston; husband, Elton Sylvester Dillard, daughter, Janice Rose Dillard; and sister, Carolina Alston, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Dillard was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School at Shady Grove Methodist Church and Inez Baptist Church, and also played piano at Inez Baptist Church. She was a member of First Families of N.C. Mary Agnes received a BA from ECU, formerly known as East Carolina Teachers College. She taught elementary classes for many years, then worked in sales for Travelers Motor Club and then returned to teaching. Many of her years were spent caring for family members.
The Rev. Frank Stansbury and the Rev. Debbie Matthis will conduct funeral services at Shady Grove Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Dillard is survived by her son, Elton Leon Dillard and wife, Cathy, of Henderson; sister, Betsy Bobbitt and husband, John, of Rocky Mount; two grandchildren, Gregory Leon Dillard and wife, Molly, of Warrenton and Kristie Dillard Lovette and husband, Tripp, of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shady Grove Methodist Church, c/o Dawn Coleman, 334 Rabbit Bottom Road, Warrenton, NC 27589; or Inez Baptist Church.

Luther Alston Jr.
WARRENTON — The Rev. Luther Alston Jr., 59, of Warrenton, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Fork Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Inez. Bishop Joseph Williams, pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Evangelist Sondra Alston of the home; seven children, Lamont Jackson, Laniece Jackson, Jamel Hunter, Julia Jackson, Ava Alston, Luther J. Alston III and Alisha Alston; nine grandchildren; and two sisters, Joanne Townsend and Christine Alston-Gloister.
The family will receive relatives and friends today, from 7-9 p.m., at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.
Professional services have been entrusted to Boyd’s Funeral Services in Warrenton.
Charles T. Ayscue
HENDERSON — Charles Thomas “Tommy” Ayscue, 89, of 1802 Tollie Weldon Road, Henderson (in the Epsom community), died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 3 p.m., at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, from 7-8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home, 1802 Tollie Weldon Road, Henderson.

Shawn L. Knott
FRANKLIN COUNTY — Shawn Lee Knott, 33, of 41 Wilson Fuller Road, Louisburg, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in Franklin County.
He was born Oct. 9, 1979, in Vance County, to Albert Knott and Anderson Terry.
He was educated in Vance County Public Schools and later enrolled in Johnston Community College and received his HVAC-Heating and Air Conditioning Certificate.
He was most recently employed with J. P. Taylor (formerly Universal Leaf Company) in Oxford.
Funeral services will be held today, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service, with the Rev. William Winstod, officiating. Interment will follow in Blacknall Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife, Angela Knott, and two children, Shawn Anthony Knott and Shakya Angelea Knott, all of the home; his mother, Alberta Knott, father, Anderson Terry, and one sister, Kisha Knott, all of Henderson.
The family is receiving friends at Wickord Apartments, 254B.

Peggy W. Renn
HENDERSON — Peggy Williams Renn, 65, a resident of 1500 Club Pond Road, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at the Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
Born in Vance County on Dec. 20, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Edward Williams and Esther Roberson Williams. She was a retired manager of Rose Mart No. 204 on Ruin Creek Road. She was a member of Raleigh Road Baptist Church and also attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Freedom Life Church Of God by the Rev. Jeff Prewer. Burial will follow in New Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Steven Renn of the home; one son, Alan Jeffrey Renn of Henderson; one daughter, Debbie J. Renn of Henderson; one sister, Shirley Strickland of Raleigh; one brother, George Williams of Henderson; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Lee Williams, Sr.
The family will receive friends today, from 7-8:30 p.m., at J. M. White Funeral home. At other times, they will be at the home of Jeff and Jamie Renn at 1326 Club Pond Road, off Vicksboro Road.

Frances D. Usher
HENDERSON — Francis Davis Usher, 85, of 140 Watson Drive, Henderson, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at her home.
Born in Durham County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Dexter Davis and Alice Cary Yelverton Davis. She was the widow of Archie Leondus Usher.
Davis was a retired teacher. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m., at Flowers Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bob Rose. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving are a daughter, Cary U. Forsythe of Erwin, Tenn.; a son, David L. Usher of Manson; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie McIntosh.
The family will receive friends Monday, from 10-11 a.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home of David and Denise Usher, 533 Manson-Drewry Road, Manson.

Mary J. Wilson
HENDERSON — Mary Ann Judkins Wilson, 92, former resident of 221 Hawkins Drive, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Henderson.
She was born in Warren County, Feb. 13, 1920, to the late William Judkins and Leathea Ann Judkins.
She joined Jordan Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and remained faithful until death. She was also a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Henderson where she served on the usher board. She attended Hocks Grove Elementary School in Warren County. She worked at J. P. Taylor Tobacco Company for more than 50 years.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at 2 p.m., at Jordan Chapel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her son, Brian Judkins of Henderson; three sisters: Mamie Bobbitt, Carrie Fields and Shirley Rainey; five grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held today, from 1-5:30 p.m., at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.
