Mary Frances Cole Jones

OXFORD — Mary Frances Cole Jones, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 9, 2014.

Mary Frances was a native of Granville County and the daughter of the late Allen Lewis and Rosa Lee Puckett Cole Sr.

She was a faithful member of Hester Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Murdoch Center.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, L. Douglas Jones. Preceding her in death was her brother Charles Cole; sisters Linda Lee Cole and Shirley Cole Faulkner; brother-in-law Robert Ball; sister-in-law Pat May Cole; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law James and Mildred JonesSwann.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Hester Baptist Church by the Rev. Alex Gallimore.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. At other times, the family will be at the home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Sheila Jones Gresham (Doug) of Oxford, Diane Jones Fairey (David) of Henderson and Connie Jones Sullivan (Kevin) of Raleigh; seven grandchildren, Neil Gresham (Lynn), Michael Gresham (Crystal) and Kelly Cash (Joey) of Oxford, David Fairey (Amanda) of Virgilina, Nicole Munn (Chris) of Henderson, and Megan and Mary Cole Sullivan of Raleigh; eight great-grandchildren; brothers Lewis Cole (Carolyn) of Kittrell, James Cole (Jane) of Kittrell, Dennis Cole of Yanceyville and Bobby Cole (Ann) of Oxford; sisters Joyce Ball of Dallas, Texas, Judy Milton (Joe) of Wilton, Ann Kittrell (Jerry) of Goldsboro, Elaine Hillard (Edgar) of Henderson and Mildred Jackson (Willard) of Kittrell; sister-in-law Janet Cole of Henderson; brother-in-law Joel Wilton Faulkner of Louisburg; nephews, Bob Swann (Mary Ann) of Georgia, Jeff Swann (Cathy) of Florida and Doug Swann (Starr) of Tennessee; and more than 83 Cole family nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank special friends Kim Wilson, Bess Reese and Theresa Beckman and niece LeAnn Cox for their loving care andkindness.

Dale W. Ramsey

HENDERSON — Dale Rae Weatherington Ramsey, age 63, a resident of 704 Murphy Road, died Friday, May 9, 2014, at Duke Medical Center.

Born on June 5, 1950, in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Ray Weatherington and Anne Bradshaw Weatherington.

She was employed as the office manager at Century 21 Hancock Properties and attended South Henderson Church of God.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Gary Harper.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Maryland “Bucky” Ramsey of the home; one daughter, Lisa Ramsey of Henderson; one son, Brian Ramsey and wife, Christy of Henderson; one grandson, Austin Ramsey; one sister, Barbara W. Knight of Kittrell; and one brother, Brad Weatherington of Henderson.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. at J. M. White Funeral Home.

At other times they will receive friends at the home at 704 Murphy Road.

Serving as active pall bearers will be Travis Knight, Chris Knight, James Lilley, Bill Lilley, Lester Knight, Mike Blount and David Weatherington.

John E. Maddox-Hill

LaGRANGE — John Earl Maddox-Hill, 25, of RHA Howell Care Center, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, at Oak Level United Church of Christ by the Rev. Leon White.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family is receiving friends at 3050 Stewart Farm Road.
