Patricia T. Duke
HENDERSON — Patricia “Patty” Thomas Duke, of 1836 Garland Street, passed away quietly Tuesday morning, Jan. 21, 2014, after an extended illness due to complications as a result of heart surgery.
Born on July 21, 1946, in Orange County, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Ellen Thomas and was the oldest of three children.
She was retired from Camper Products, where she worked for a number of years.
Patty attended Gospel Independent Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at Gospel Independent Baptist Church, conducted by former Pastor Robert Green. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
She is survived by one daughter, Linda McFaddin and husband Dean; three sons, Donald Duke and fiancee April, Ronald Shealy and wife Joan, and James Shealy and fiancee Nicky; one sister, Shirley Pitman and husband David; and one brother, Danny Thomas and wife Gail, all of Henderson. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Dean McFaddin Jr. and wife Meredith, Guy McFaddin, Heather McFaddin, Hillary Shealy and Logan Duke; and one great-grandchild, Mason Bolton, all of Henderson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Duke, and one son, Johnny Shealy Jr.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Linda and Dean McFaddin, at 3090 Lynnbank Road.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Dean McFaddin Jr., Guy McFaddin, David Pitman, Jeffrey Pitman, Joseph Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Dan Thomas and Wes Horton.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their visits, cards and prayers during the time of her illness.

RALEIGH — Ronnie Campbell, 46, formerly of Warren County, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at WakeMed Health and Hospitals.
