Ann P. Ellis

WILMINGTON — Ann Patton Ellis, 76, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, after a brief illness. She passed in her home.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Myrtle Collier Patton; her son Billy Joe Eatmon; her sister, Ruby Patton McKenze; and her brothers Jack Patton, Kenneth “KC” Patton and Orlando Patton.

Ann is survived by her husband, Sam Ellis; her daughter, Deborah Ann Eatmon Silva of Wilmington; her sons, Don Eatmon and Randy Eatmon of Henderson; her sister, Peggy Griffin of Raleigh; her brother, Billy Patton of Henderson; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved dachshund, Molly.

Ann Ellis was retired from Reeds Jewelry Corp. Office in Wilmington. She also worked for many years at Revco Warehouse in Henderson.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, NC 28412.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Liberty Homecare and Hospice at 2550 S. 41st Street, Wilmington, NC 28403.


Kenneth Thornhill

NORLINA — Kenneth Thornhill, 84, of 1538 N. US 1, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

Arrangements will be announced by R.H. Greene Funeral Home in Warrenton.


Verlena H. Williams

MANSON — Verlena Henderson Williams, 92, of 1465 Wilson Brothers Store Road, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at her residence.

A funeral will be held at noon Thursday, March 6, at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. Richard Henderson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing is today, March 5, from noon to 6 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.

Gloria R. Wilson

WARRENTON — Gloria R. Wilson, 67, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014.

A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday, March 6, at Shiloh Baptist Church by Rev. Kenneth Richardson.
