Jimmie Reed Howard Sr.

RICHMOND, Va. — Jimmie Reed Howard Sr., 66, of Richmond, Va., died Sunday, April 28, 2013.

Surviving are his wife, Debra Julia Howard; four daughters, Sonja Johnson, Chrystal Jones, Angela Howard and Letrice Zahairagunn (Or’Telin); son, Jimmie Reed Howard Jr. (Melissa); nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; sister, Mosella Perry; niece, nephews and cousins; and other relatives and friends.

His remains currently rest at Scott’s Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., Richmond, Va. Funeral services will be held at noon, Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Pilgrim Journey Baptist Church, 7204 Bethlehem Road, Richmond, Va. Dr. Angelo Chatman will be officiating. The Rev. Jacqueline Lightfoot will deliver the eulogy. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memory Gardens in Glen Allen, Va.

DORCHESTER, Mass. — Edna Mae Alexander, 64,
formerly of Warren County, died Friday, April 26, 2013, in Dorchester, Mass.

Zelotis A. Herring

OXFORD — Zelotis A. Herring, 91, a resident of 207 Lee St., Oxford, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at his home.
He was the son of the late Arthur D. Herring and Victoria Lee Herring of Harnett County. He was a retired professional truck driver.

He is survived by three sisters, Thelma H. Barber of Fayetteville, Neva H. Joseph of Radcliff, Kty., and Hazel Grimes, Buffalo, N.Y.; two brothers, Carl Herring of Roxboro and Howard Herring Sr., city commissioner, of Oxford; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Timothy Darling Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Omotolokun Omokunde. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.

A viewing will take place Friday, May 3, 2013, from noon-6 p.m., at Wright Funeral Home. The family will be receiving visitors at the home of Herring, 307 Lanier St., Oxford.

HENDERSON — Joshua W. “Butterbean” Jones, 67, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at his residence.

The family will receive friends at 544 High St., Henderson.
