Russell L. Partin
HENDERSON — Russell “Terry” Lewis Partin was born in Vance County on Jan. 24, 1962, to Peggy Coghill Partin and the late James Lewis Partin, and died Thursday morning, April 25, 2013, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Henderson.
Surviving are his mother, Peggy Partin; three daughters, Crystal P. Church, April Partin and Randa Adcock, two sisters, Tammy Parrish and Jamee Renn; five grandchildren; four stepsisters; and one stepbrother. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and one stepbrother.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Bible Baptist Church on Raleigh Road, with the Rev. Wilbert Horton in charge. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, from 2-3 p.m., and other times at 434 Cedar St., Henderson.

Willie F. Tart
DURHAM — Willie Furman Tart, 78, of Franklinton, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Durham Regional Hospital.
He was born in Vance County to the late Sam Tart and Beulah Currin Tart. He was also preceded in death by a son, Samuel Tart.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2013, in the chapel of Bright Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Collier officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tart is survived by his wife, Mattie Pearl Tart; daughter, Diane Williams of Stem; son, Steve Tart and wife, Hattie, of Franklinton; brother, Grady Tart and wife, Betty, of Rocky Mount; sisters, Hazel Thomas and husband, Joe, of Franklinton and Brenda Mae Swonke of Henderson; grandchildren, Jimmy Williams and Samantha Tart; and great-grandchildren, Chloe Rogers, Lucas Williams and Praley Glenn.
Friends may visit with the family from 7-8:30 p.m., today, at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.

HENDERSON — Annabelle Gatling, 89, a resident of Kindred Nursing Home, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.

Willie A. Lewis Jr.
HENDERSON — Willie Alfred Lewis Jr., 74, of 31 McNair Circle, Henderson, died April 24, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in Granville County and the son of the late Willie Alfred, Sr. and Mary Williams Lewis.
He graduated from the former Henderson Institute High School and was a Machine Operator at Lauren Glass Plant which is now called Verallia Company until he retired. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 28, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Holy Temple Church by the Rev. Roosevelt Alston. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He was proceeded in death by his parent, also three sisters, Rosa Lewis, Arlene Lewis and Bessie Lathan.
Survivors include: his wife, Cassie Ray Robinson Lewis of the home; three sons, Troy Lewis, Kenneth Lewis and Kelby Lewis; two daughters, Lorell Lewis, and Tandra Dunn; three brothers, Robert Lewis, Joe Lewis and Moses Lewis; four sisters, Lucille Davis, Mary Kittrell, Ella Taylor and Frankey Daye; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

OXFORD — Alec Sawchak, 81, a longtime resident of Wake County, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Brantwood Nursing Home in Oxford.
A native of Lackawanna County, Pa., he was the widower of Leslie Viola Smith and the son of the late Peter and Mary Castner Sawchak. He was of the Baptist faith and was a system analyst with IBM for over 30 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Leslie Sawchak Proctor and husband, Gerial, of Oxford; and one grandson.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 29, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh.
