Kimp P. Talley Jr.

DURHAM — Kimp Plummer Talley Jr., of Henderson and Raleigh, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Duke Regional Hospital.

He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., to the late Ruth Ward Talley and Kimp Plummer Talley Sr.

He graduated from Henderson Institute and received his B.A. from North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro.

Mr. Talley served as a captain in the United States Air Force and retired as a pilot from Trans World Airlines.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wilkerson Talley.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Cotton Memorial Presbyterian Church with Rev. Gordon Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Viewing is from noon to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 4, in the chapel of Davis-Roster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Delores; two daughters, Dr. Sandy Talley Curry (Larry) and attorney Susan Tally Grimes (Ernest); five grandchildren, Dr. Shannon, Howard Jr. and Shawn Willis and Wesley and Seth Grimes.

The family will receive friends at Davis-Royster Funeral Service today, Dec. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to Cotton Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Lois W. Wilkinson

OXFORD — Lois Noblin Wilson Wilkinson, 87, a longtime resident of Stovall, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Universal Healthcare.

A native of Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Mary Lee Wilson.

She was a member of Stovall Methodist Church and was retired from Russell Stover in Clarksville, Va.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 4, at the Eakes Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Johnny Yount. Burial will be private.

Surviving are a son, Pete Wilkinson and wife Delores of Stovall; two grandchildren, Bill Wilkinson and wife Rebecca of Oxford and Vickie W. Barnes and husband John of Henderson; a sister, Myrtle Frances Checkers; three brothers, Harvey, Clyde and Larry Wilson; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Wilkinson, and a brother, Jimmy Wilson.

Visitation is today, Dec. 4, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of her son.

OXFORD — Julia E. Chavis, 82, of 132 Webb Place, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Duke Regional Hospital.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Refuge Temple Church by David Morton. Burial will follow in the Meadowview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Viewing will be Friday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Betts & Son Funeral Home.

ASHBURN, Va. — Seleah Wyche Joyner, 69, of 42954 Chancery Terrace, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
