Richard T. Davis

MOUNT JULIET, Tenn. — Richard Thomas “Rick” Davis, 63, of 465 Gaywinds Drive, formerly of Henderson, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, in Nashville, Tenn.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Jesse Graham Davis and Pauline Hight Davis.

Mr. Davis was a national sales manager for Gard Specialist Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of the Henderson Civitan Club.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Sunset Gardens by Dr. Marion D. Lark.

There are no immediate survivors.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Larry Holland, Charles Holland Jr., Joe Cowling, Beverly Cowling and Jerry Stainback.

Ray C. Stafford

WAXHAW — Ray Charles Stafford, 49, of 9613 Lancaster Highway, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his home.

Born on Oct. 27, 1963, in Halifax County, Va., he was the son of Pauline Mann Stafford of Henderson and the late Robert Charles Stafford.

He previously attended Harriett Baptist Church in Henderson and was an employee of Carotek, Inc., in Matthews.

He was a Scout leader of Troop 33 in Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Harriett Baptist Church by Pastor Will Breedlove. Burial will follow on Monday in the Moore Family Cemetery in South Boston, Va.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Brittany Ray Stafford Driver of Roxboro and Rhyanne Colleen Stafford of Charlotte; two sons, Robert Samuel “Rob” Stafford of Haw River and Kody Ray Stafford of Charlotte; two sisters, Teresa Stafford of Graham and Donna Stafford Rollins of Henderson; three grandchildren, Jenna, Colton and Houston; his second dad, John D. Stalls Sr. of Oxford; two nieces; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday in the fellowship hall at Harriett Baptist Church. At other times they will be at the home of his mother at 905 Southern Pine Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made payable to “Central NC Council” for Boy Scouts of America in memory of Ray Stafford, PO Box 250, Albemarle, NC 28002.

HENDERSON — Alice Jones Davis, 75, died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at Duke Regional Hospital.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Greenwood Baptist Church in Warrenton by Rev. Hazel Richardson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel.

HENDERSON — Gwendolyn Evans, 51, of 121 Chloe Lane, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, at her residence.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at E.C. Terry’s Funeral Service Chapel by Rev. Wesley Crews. Interment will follow in Blacknall Cemetery.

HENDERSON — Kathleen Marie Barker Franklin, 62, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2013.

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church by Rev. Seth Miller. Burial will be at a later date in Carmel, N.Y.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — George Ralph Greene, 72, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2013, at his residence.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at Cooks Chapel Missionary Baptist Church by Dr. Tony W. Cozart. Interment will follow in the Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
