GRAFTON, Va. — Dieuwertje “Vera” Morris, 84, died Tuesday, Sept.17, 2013.

She loved gardening and painting and was very talented at crafts, especially knitting and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Morris, formerly of Henderson.
Survivors include her sons, Reginald A. Morris of New Jersey, Ronald E. Morris and wife Rachel, and Raynald W. Morris and wife Lynn, all of Newport News, Va.; her grandchildren, Kelley Morris and Blake Morris; and her companion, Chris Anthony Milad.
The family would like to thank her extended family of Barcroft for the love and compassion shown to their mother over the years.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Amory Funeral Home.
Vera will be laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Due to her love of animals, memorials may be made to the Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
