Kenneth B. Arnold Sr.

HENDERSON — Kenneth Bert Arnold Sr., 77, of 3124 Raleigh Road, Henderson, died Friday, June 27, 2014, at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late James Dixon and Clara McIntyre Arnold.

Mr. Arnold was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force and was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wilbert Horton. A private burial will be held in the Williams Family Cemetery in Sharpsburg.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Lancaster Arnold; a daughter, Karen A. Poythress of Oxford; a step-daughter, Darlene W. Allen and husband Fred of Elm City; a son, Kenneth B. “Ken” Arnold Jr. and wife Kim of Henderson; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth “Dink” Knight and Hazel Renn, and a brother, Walter Ray.

The family will receive friends at the home, 3124 Raleigh Road.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Keith Horton, Don Renn, Sammy Bullock, Logan Arnold, Matt Arnold, Kendall Poythress, Jackie Allen, and Fred Allen.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church, c/o Rev. Wilbert Horton, 1580 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, NC 27537.

HENDERSON — John Edward Davis, 63, of 145 First St., Henderson, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

Rudolph B. Taylor Jr.

HENDERSON — Rudolph Benjamin Taylor Jr., of 174 Coley Road, Henderson, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

A funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, July 1, at Smyrna Church.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, June 30, and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at other times at the residence.

George W. Venable Jr.

HENDERSON — George Washington Venable Jr., 61, of Keeton Road, Henderson, died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Durham.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Antioch United Church of Christ.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.
