Pearline Z. Clark

OXFORD — Pearline Z. Clark, 63, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at St. Clare Hospital in Dover, New Jersey.

She was the daughter of the late Will Clark and Exie Overby Clark of Granville County.

She is survived by a grandson, Justine Gooch of San Diego, California; three sisters, Willa Hatcher of Oxford, Doris Bell of Brentwood, Tennessee, and DeFlange Clark of Morristown, New Jersey; and one brother, John Clark of Bullock.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. John Gooch. Burial will be in Synama Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

A viewing will be held Saturday, June 28, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at the home of Willa Hatcher, 4058 Dooster St. in Oxford.

Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home.

 

Marie W. Duke

HENDERSON — Marie Wiggins Duke, 85, of the Middleburg community, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at a local nursing home.

Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late John Bryan and Ruth Turner Wiggins. She was the widow of Robert Lee Duke.

She was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Flowers Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen W. Scott, Louise W. Edwards and Peggy W. Smith; and a brother, John Bryan Wiggins Jr.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Thomas G. Grissom Jr.

HENDERSON — Thomas “Dink” Gray Grissom Jr., 38, of Byron, Georgia, passed away June 22, 2014, in Henderson.

Dink was born in Henderson on May 14, 1976. He was the son of the late Thomas  ”Tommy” and Pansy Grissom.

Dink is survived by his wife, Karen Harrell Grissom; three children, Dylan Grissom and Cameron and Trinity Furmage; a sister, Jennifer Grissom; four brothers, Jeff Grissom, Andy Grissom, Chuckie Lowman and Steve Lowman; and 14 nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church on Clearview Drive in Henderson.

The family will be accepting visitors at his sister’s home, 1325 Hargrove St., Henderson, NC 27536.

HENDERSON — Mary Debnam, of 445 Sunnyview Road, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

The family will receive friends at the residence.

BURLINGTON — William Kearney, 95, formerly of Warren County, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at Alamance Health Care.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28, in the chapel of Boyd’s Funeral Services by the Rev. Stanley Kearney. Burial will follow in the Greater Lovely Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon.

Viewing is today, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

WARRENTON — Rudolph Benjamin Taylor Jr., of 174 Coley Road, died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Duke University Hospital in Durham.

HENDERSON — Robert Esther Wiggins, 86, of Senior Citizens Home, died Thursday, June 26, 2014.

A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, June 28, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Blacknall Cemetery.

Viewing is today, June 27, from noon to 6 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

NEW YORK — Barbara Satterwhite Williams, of Brooklyn, New York, died Sunday, June 22, 2014, at University Hospital in Brooklyn.

A funeral will be held at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in Brooklyn. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

Viewing will be Sunday, June 29, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Siloam Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn.
