Mary W. Moore
HENDERSON — Mary Elizabeth Wimbush Moore, of 722 N. Beckford Drive, was born Dec. 8, 1937, to the late James Sidney Wimbush and the late Careleane Burwell Wimbush in Vance County. She entered eternal life quietly on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Kindred Care in Henderson.
Mary was a member of Big Ruin Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Golden Girls until her health declined. Mary retired from Lenox China in 1999. Mary was a mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, James Wimbush and Louis Moore; sister, Sylvia Wilson; brother, Larry Wimbush; and grandson, Jermaine Wimbush.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Big Ruin Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson with the Rev. Charles Burwell presiding.
She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Len E. Moore Jr. of the home; two daughters, Shandolyn C. Moore of the home and J. Vanessa Williams (Donnell Morrison) of Henderson; one brother, Sidney D. Wimbush of Henderson; five granddaughters, Delores Wimbush of Raleigh, OrNetta Rice (Lindsay) of Henderson, Shantia D. Harris of Kittrell, Megan Moore of Henderson and Laverne Wimbush (Eric Woods) of Oxford; four great-grandsons, Tyrell Dunston, Zhiva’ Moore, SeMarreius Keith and Aleijah Moore; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wimbush; four nephews, Booker Wilson, Carlton Wilson (Jenny), Larry Wimbush and Ricky Wimbush (Bridget); two nieces, Darleane Wilson and Jean Marshall (Andre); and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 21, at Davis-Royster Funeral Service from noon to 6 p.m. At other times, they will receive friends at the home.
John L. Daniel
BULLOCK — John A. L. Daniel, 83, of 9012 N. U.S. 15, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center. He was a native of Wichita, Kan.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by three daughters, Karen Royster of Cameron, Yvonne Parker of Henderson and Deonne Evans of Chapel Hill; four sons, John Daniel Jr. of Durham, Carl Daniel of Fort Worth, Texas, and Andre Daniel and Leon Daniel, both of Bullock; two siblings, Michael Jeffreys and Jackie Jeffreys, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Calvin Brooks and the Rev. Steven Hargrove will conducted funeral services Saturday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in Townsville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Friday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Oxford.

Owen W. Moore
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Retired Senior Master Sgt. Owen W. Moore, U.S. Air Force, 80, passed away March 12, 2014, in Colorado Springs.
Owen was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Henderson, N.C.
Owen married Namiko Furuya on Oct. 9, 1956, in Tokyo, Japan. He served in the Air Force for 22 years before retiring in 1974.
Owen also worked in the Food Purchasing Department at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs for 26 years before retiring again in 2001.
A committal service with honor guard is to be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Owen is survived by his wife, Namiko; a brother, Clarence B. Moore Jr. of Raleigh; and a niece, Donna Moore Fuller of Raleigh.

Magnolia J. Lee
HENDERSON — Magnolia Johnson Lee, 85, of Senior Citizens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, March 21, at Davis Chapel Baptist Church by Pastor Charles Turrentine Sr. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
Viewing is today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family is receiving friends at 89 Vulcan Lane.

HENDERSON — Rosa B. W. Poole, 92, of 960 Patton Circle, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at Warren Hills Nursing Center in Warrenton.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Coley Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Warrenton by Rev. Carson F. Jones. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing is today, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the chapel of Boyd’s Funeral Services in Warrenton.
