Dennis J. Boone

HENDERSON — Dennis James Boone, age 55, a resident of 1045 Eastern Blvd., Henderson, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh.

Born on June 21, 1957 in Amarella, Texas, he was the son of Mary Kittrell Boone Parrish and the late James Clarence Boone. Mr. Boone was a former employee of Matthew Painting Company and was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 2 p.m., in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Aubrey Florence. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Ashley Denise Boone, and a son, Keith Reid Boone; two brothers, Eugene Parrish and wife, Gidget, and Tony Boone, all of Henderson; a grandson, Noah Keith Tucker; and his step-father, Furman Parrish of Henderson.

In addition to his father, Mr. Boone was preceded in death by a daughter, Keisha Ann Boone, and a son, Jamie Boone; a sister, Denise Harp; and a brother, Larry Boone.

The family will receive friends tonight, from 7-8:30 p.m., at J.M. White Funeral Home; at other times they will be at the home, 1045 Eastern Blvd., Henderson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Harp, Daniel Parrish, Timmy Parrish, Robert Roberson and Al Bolton.

Hugh R. Hoyle

HENDERSON — Hugh Roberson Hoyle, age 86, a resident of 26 Margie Lane (off the Spring Valley Lake Road), died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at his home.

Born on March 26, 1926 in Vance County, he was the son of the late James Clifton “Buddy” Hoyle and Eva Wade Roberson Hoyle. Mr. Hoyle was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. He was the owner and operator of the former “Hoyle’s Trucking” and retired from Pilot Freight Carriers. Mr. Hoyle attended South Henderson Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at 11 a.m., in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Mr. Hoyle is survived by his daughter, Ellen H. Moody and husband, Steve; two sons, Hugh Randall “Randy” Hoyle and wife, Deborah, and Stephen Alan “Steve” Hoyle, all of Henderson; six grandchildren, David Moody, Cathy M. White, Clay Hoyle, Derek Ellington, Ashley Hoyle and Monti Gravitte; his sister, Pauline “Polly” H. O’Neal and husband, Loyd; and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Peoples Hoyle.

The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday, from 10-11 a.m., at J.M. White Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home, 26 Margie Lane, Henderson 27537.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Moody, Clay Hoyle, L.B. O’Neal, Eddie Lee, Roger Clark and Derek Ellington.

FRANKLINTON — William Thomas Tuck, 62, son of the late McKinley and Adell Hun Tuck was born in Granville County and died Jan. 13, 2013, at Franklin Regional Hospital, Louisburg.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian Teasley Tuck of the home; five children, Cheryl Evans, of Durham, Cory Pace of the home, Quinton Teasley of Franklinton, Wanda Pace of Wake Forest and Bobby Pace of Greensboro; eight grandchildren; two brothers, McKinley Tuck Jr. of Bridgeport, Conn., and David Tuck of Oxford; and six sisters, Mary Johnson, Patricia Carroll, Pauline Williams, Alice Thorpe, Jackie Durham and Lisa Tuck.

James H. Brummitt

HENDERSON — James H. “Jimmy” Brummitt, 73, a resident of 1756 Bearpond Road, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.

Born on Feb. 24, 1939, in Vance County, he was the son of the late Harold Burton Brummitt and Mattie Adcock Brummitt.

Funeral services will be held today, at 3 p.m., in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Wayne Clark. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Ball Brummitt of the home; two daughters, Debbie B. Norton of Wake Forest and Sandi B. Lindsey of Henderson; a son, Tony Brummitt of Henderson; three brothers, Sam Brummitt and Bobby Brummitt, both of Henderson, and Herchell Brummitt of Great Falls, Va.; and six grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service today, from 1:30-3 p.m., at J.M. White Funeral Home.

Serving as pall bearers will be Chester Currin, Butch Brummitt, Dan Brummitt, Mark Brummitt, Mike Brummitt and J.D. Adcox.

HENDERSON - Lizzie Dave, 96 of 142 Summer Field Lane, Henderson, N.C. died January 19, 2013 at her resident.

Margaret P. Lathan

STEM — Margaret Pratt Lathan, 92, a longtime resident of Granville County, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at her home in Stem.

A native of Anson County, she was the daughter of the late John and Rosa Moore Pratt, a member of Community United Methodist Church in Butner and a retired registered nurse at Murdoch Center.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor by the Rev. Jessie Larkins.

Surviving are two daughters, Margaret “Peggy” Lathan of Charlotte, Susan Jackson of Stem; a sister, Ernestine Ratliff of Anson County; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Daniel Earl Lathan; a sister, Eva Riccio; and two brothers, Carroll and John Pratt.
Visitation will be held at the residence.

Juanita Wimbish Turner

HENDERSON - Juanita Wimbish Turner, 78, a resident of 7579 Hwy 39 North in the Willimsboro community died January 13, 2013 at her resident.

She was born in Vance County, and is the daughter of the late Granderson and Addie Marrow Wimbush.

She attended Vance County Public Schools and continued her education in Washington, DC where she pursued a career in nursing. She joined Flat Creek Baptist Church at an early age. She retired after 30 years, returning to Henderson to live.

Funeral service will be Sunday, January 20, 2013 @ 2:00 P.M. at Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church by Rev. William Everette. Burial will follow in the Church’s cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Alnita Lindsey, of Lanham, Maryland, Denise Thompkins of the home, Renita Hampton and Chenise Turner both of Philadelphia, PA.; two sons, Alphonso and William Turner both of Philadelphia, PA.; three sisters, Hattie Coleman of Los Angeles, CA., Delores Lewis and Vicky Whitfield of Henderson, N.C.; four brothers, John Wimbish, and James Wimbish, both of Philadelphia, PA., Floyd Wimbish of Durham, N.C., Paul Wimbish of Henderson; 11 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
