WARRENTON — Deborah Alston, 53, of 347 Read Road in Warrenton, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at her residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Boyd’s Funeral Services in Warrenton.


Corleen D. Robinson

WARREN COUNTY — Corleen Davis Robinson, 89, of South Hill, Va. (formerly of Warren County), died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Whites Grove Christian Church in Warrenton. The Rev. John Pugh, pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include: her daughters, Geraldine Robinson of Wise, Shirley Robinson-Flood of the home and Arlene Burwell of Oxford; three sons; William Robinson of Raleigh, the Rev. Darius Robinson of Bracey, Va., and Clifton Robinson of Richmond, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mamie Debnam and Minnie Smith; and one brother, Ed Davis.

The body will be on view today, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.

Ernest L. Vaughan

HENDERSON — Ernest Lee Vaughan, 88, of 168 Thorpe St., Henderson, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Willie Lee Vaughan and Addie Elizabeth Faucette Vaughan.

Vaughan retired as an electrician after 50 years with Harriett & Henderson Yarns. He was a member of South Henderson Church of God, where he served as a church musician. He played music all his life, including guitar and bass. He was a pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 3 p.m., at South Henderson Church of God, conducted by the Rev. Gary Harper and the Rev. Henry Abbott. Entombment will follow in Sunset Gardens.

Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Daverine Lassiter Vaughan; two daughters, Brenda V. Garrett of Bullock and Angela V. Morton of Henderson; a son, Donald L. Vaughan of Henderson; a sister, Dorothy V. Thacker of Midlothian, Va.; a brother, Weldon Vaughan of Henderson; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Those preceding him in death include: a son, Charles Brady Vaughan; a brother, James E. “Dick” Vaughan; and a granddaughter, Cynthia Michelle Goswick.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from 2-3 p.m., at South Henderson Church of God. All other times, they will be at the home, 168 Thorpe St., Henderson.

Flowers will be accepted; or memorials may be made to South Henderson Church of God, 125 J.P. Taylor Road, Henderson, NC 27537; or to Community Home Care and Hospice, 152 Zeb Robinson Road, Henderson, NC 27537.

Darin Williams

WARREN COUNTY — Darin Williams, 48, of 50 Joyful Lane in Louisburg (formerly of Warren County), died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at noon, at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Warrenton. The Rev. John E. Gooch, pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include: two daughters, Darinet Williams and TaShenna Rainey, both of Warrenton; one son, Tre’ Williams of Henderson; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Anita Walker of Louisburg and Tonya Williams of Raleigh.
