Charles R. Dickerson Sr.

HENDERSON — Charles Randolph Dickerson Sr., 76, of 805 Bearpond Road, Henderson, died Monday, June 17, 2013, at his home.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late John Robert Dickerson and Annie Laura Newton Dickerson.

Mr. Dickerson was a retired master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was a former employee of Flowers Funeral Home.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday, June 20, 2013, at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Columba Nnorom. Entombment, with military honors, will follow in the St. James Catholic Church Columbarium.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Wages Dickerson; two daughters, Pamela D. Mosley and husband, Ricky, of Sanford, and Laura D. Agapion and husband, Danny, of Gaffney, S.C.; three sons, Charles R. “Randy” Dickerson Jr. and partner, Gregg, of Charlotte, Michael A. Dickerson of Pittsboro, and Brian A. Dickerson of the home; three sisters, Julia D. Wortham and husband, Wilton, and Mary Lee D. Crocker, both of Henderson, and Irene D. Flowers of Wake Forest; a brother, Albert F. Dickerson and wife, Ethel, of Henderson; eight grandchildren, Matthew Dickerson, Michael Dickerson, Sara Mosley, Emily Mosley, Gabrielle Agapion, Stephanie Agapion, Nicholas Agapion and Kimbre Archer; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice D. Weatherford; and three brothers, Henry C. Dickerson, W. Roger Dickerson and J. Maurice Dickerson.

The family will receive friends today, June 19, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home and immediately following the service at the church. All other times, they will be at the home, 805 Bearpond Road, Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church, 3275 U.S. 158 Bypass, Henderson, NC 27537; or to the USO (United Service Organizations), P.O. Box 96322, Washington, DC 20090-6322.

Maria P. Stamatakis

WILMINGTON — Maria Protopapadaki Stamatakis, 87, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013, at her home in Wilmington.

She was born in Greece on May 21, 1926, to Demetrios and Constantina Protopapadaki, and was the widow of Michael Stamatakis, who died in 1989.

Mrs. Stamatakis is survived by a son, Steve Michael Stamatakis of Winston-Salem, and his children, Caroline Elizabeth Stamatakis and Alice Michael Stamatakis; a daughter, Constantina Stamatakis of Wilmington; a sister, Evangalea Protopapadaki of Greece; a cousin, Kyriakos Protopapadaki and wife, Janet, of England, and their sons, Antonis Protopapadaki of Atlanta and Sven Protopapadaki of England; and a nephew, Michael Stamatakis and wife, Georgia Stamatakis, of Greece.

A Trisagion prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. today, June 19, 2013, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 608 South College Road, Wilmington.

A funeral service will be held at the church at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, by Father Nicholaos Spirakis and Father Regis Alexoudis. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, in Elmwood Cemetery in Henderson, with Father Paul Christy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church or the American Heart Association.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

HENDERSON — Geraldine Richardson, 59, of 1785 Old Norlina Road, Henderson, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Blacknall Cemetery.

A viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
