James O. Twisdale
HENDERSON — James Oscar “Pip” Twisdale, 86, of 378 Daniel Boone Trail, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at his home.
Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Charlie Gray Twisdale and Josephine Hope Twisdale.
He was the widower of Frances Pegram Twisdale.
Mr. Twisdale was a retired yard foreman at Greystone Concrete Products Inc. A member of North Henderson Baptist Church, he was a member of the David Stokes Sunday School Class and was a former deacon.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at North Henderson Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Brent Kasey. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie T. Fisher and husband Carl of Henderson; two sons, Jimmy Twisdale and wife Patricia and Danny Twisdale, all of Henderson; three grandchildren, Kevin Fisher, Jodi Pulley and husband Alan and Annie Twisdale; and four great-grandchildren, Kaleb Fisher, Kalie Fisher, Drew Fisher and Allie Pulley.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Paige Twisdale; six sisters, Zelma Hedgepeth, Louise Grissom, Mary Lee Hope, Clara Yancey, Elizabeth Steed and Mildred Twisdale; and five brothers, Herbert Twisdale, Elmus Twisdale, Ernest Twisdale, Charlie Twisdale and Linnie Twisdale.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 9, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the fellowship hall at North Henderson Baptist Church. All other times, they will be at the home, 378 Daniel Boone Trail, Henderson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the deacons of North Henderson Baptist Church and the David Stokes Sunday School Class.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to North Henderson Baptist Church, 1211 N. Garnett Street, Henderson, NC 27536.

HENDERSON — Malcolm Edward “Red” Coleman died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
