Edna M. Faulkner

HENDERSON — Edna Leigh Martin Faulkner, age 88, a resident of 2109 Rock Mill Road, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014.

Born in Warren County on July 4, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Willie Dalton Martin and Mary Mabel Hayes Martin and the widow of Marvin Edgar Faulkner Jr.

She was a homemaker and member of Zion United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of J.M. White Funeral Home by Rev. Bob Rose. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.

Mrs. Faulkner is survived by her daughter, Melba F. Seneff and husband Russell of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; two sons, Reginald L. Faulkner and wife Sandra and Alan D. Faulkner and wife Lisa, all of Henderson; two sisters, Myrtice Martin Richardson and Everlyna Martin Norwood, both of Norlina; six grandchildren, Kenneth Roach, Sandra F. Lawhorne, Kalee Seneff, Trey Seneff, Coy Seneff and Zade Faulkner; and a great-grandchild, Morgan Lawhorne.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Beverly Ray Faulkner; a sister, Louise M. Stallings; and two brothers, Willie D. Martin Jr. and Reginald L. Martin.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at J.M. White Funeral Home.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Gene Richardson, Mark Faulkner, Don Faulkner, Wayne Martin, Jerry Stallings, Donnie Faulkner, Glenn Norwood and Thomas Lassiter Jr.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church Building Fund, 462 Oine Rd., Norlina, NC 27563.

Lavert M. Henderson

HENDERSON — Lavert Mason Henderson, 94, of 135 Mason Road, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Warren County to the late Nathaniel and Gertrude Bullock Mason.

She was educated in the Warren County Training Schools. She was married to the late Walter Henderson Sr.

She joined Manson Baptist Church at an early age, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 48 years. She later joined Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ.

She is survived by 10 children, Patricia Nwachukwu-Edwards of the home, Gladys Perry of Manson, Gertrude Gamble and Betty Yancey of Middleburg, Lavert Henderson Hobbs of Long Island, N.Y., Shirley White of Boston, Johnnie Henderson and Walter Henderson Jr. of Manson, James Henderson of Ridgeway, Charlie Henderson of Middleburg and Julius Henderson of Deer Park, N.Y.; one brother, William Mason of Manson; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 31, at Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ by Rev. Elton Buffalo. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The body will be on view from noon to 6 p.m. today, Jan. 30, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.

HENDERSON — James Franklin Morris, 93, of Senior Citizens Nursing Home, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Blessed Hope Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 31, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home of Susan Rogers, at 66 Pine View Road.

Further arrangements will be announced by J.M. White Funeral Home.

HENDERSON — Christine Small, 59, of 290 Oak Tree Lane, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service by Rev. Steven Hargrove.

Viewing is today, Jan. 30, from noon to 6 p.m. in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.
