Fannie M. Allen
HENDERSON — Fannie Mae Allen, 88, of 1703 Willow Lane, Henderson, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Calvary Temple Holy Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Viewing will be held from noon to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Cecile M. Brown
HENDERSON — Cecile McGhee Brown, 86, of 4495 Dick Smith Road, Kittrell, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, in Youngsville.
Born in Granville County, she was the daughter of the late Josiah Washington McGee and Katie Overton McGee.
She was the widow of Arthur Hart Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a retired employee of Burlington Mills, Inc.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Gene Wood.
Burial will follow in Carey Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are a step-daughter, Jane B. Cole of Kittrell; and two step-sons, Arthur Hartwell Brown of Kittrell and William “Billy” Brown of Florida.
She was preceded in death by a son, Joel Brown; five sisters, Bessie Newton, Eunice Longmire, Elma Eakes, Virginia Mae, Hilliard Strickland and Doris Pegram; and six brothers, Eugene McGee, Walter McGee, Sam McGee, Joe McGhee, George McGhee and Zach McGhee.
The family will receive friends today, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home in Henderson.
Her great-nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

James D. Parrott
HENDERSON — James Dixon “Jim” Parrott, age 55, a resident of 2834 Poplar Creek Road, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Duke University Hospital.
Born in Vance County on June 17, 1957, he was the son of the late James A. Parrott Jr. and Lucy Wiggins Parrott. He was formerly employed as a welder and was medically retired.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 9, 2013, at 2 p.m., in the J.M. White Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Frank Sossamon. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Grissom Parrott of the home; one daughter, Harley Morgan Parrott of the home; one son, Dixon Cameron Parrott of the home; and one brother, Ronald Thomas Parrott and wife, Mitzi, of Henderson; nephew, Will Parrott, and six other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one nephew, Jasper Parrott.
The family will receive friends Saturday night, June 8, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at J.M. White Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the Parrott home place at 2840 Poplar Creek Road, Henderson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Greg Reese, Tommy Breedlove, Dean Guin, Kevin Guin, Fleet Crews, David Parham, Ray Parham and Mike Smith.

Sadie S. Norwood
HENDERSON — Sadie Stevenson Norwood, 98, formerly of Warrenton Road, Norlina, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at a local nursing home.
Born in Warren County, she was the daughter of the late Walter Robert Stevenson and Queen Garrett Stevenson.
She was the widow of George Chambus Norwood.
Mrs. Norwood was a homemaker.
She was a member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Cokesbury United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. J. Marshall Neathery.
Burial will follow in Brown’s Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are a son, Allen Taylor Norwood and wife, Jackie, of Norlina; a daughter-in-law, Rose Norwood of Norlina; four grandchildren, Michael Norwood, Gary Norwood, Marilyn Norwood and Jacqueline Martin and husband, Brian; and seven great-grandchildren, Eric Fleming, Nicole Fleming, Ashley Martin, Megan Norwood, Rebecca Norwood, Kelly Norwood and Samantha Norwood.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Norwood; a sister, Lizzy S. Mock; two brothers, Luther R. “Cedar” Stevenson and Otha Lee “Buck” Stevenson; and a grandson, Russell Lee Norwood.
The family will receive friends Saturday, from 2 to 3 p.m., in the fellowship hall at Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
At all other times, they will be at the home of Rose Norwood, 122 Pond View Lane, Norlina.

RICHMOND, Va. — Pinkie Mae Richardson Taylor, 85, of 1916 Bloom Lane in Richmond, Va. and formerly of Warren County, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 8, 2013, at 2 p.m. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Macon. Minister Don A. Stith will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be today from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Boyd’s Funeral Services Chapel in Warrenton.
