Mitchell Arnold

OXFORD — Mitchell “Terry” Arnold, age 67, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Duke Medical Center.

Terry was born Jan. 26, 1947, in Johnsonville, S.C. He was the son of the late H.M. Arnold and Ella Mae Altman Arnold.

Terry was a graduate of Enloe High School and N.C. State University. He retired from the Granville-Vance Health District, where he worked as supervisor of environmental health for 31 years.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 22, 2014, at 11 a.m. in the Oxford Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Alan Koeneke. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, in Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville.

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Angela Pinkston Arnold; sister, Angela Marie Arnold of Raleigh; and brother, Jeffrey Arnold of South Boston, Va.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 21, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Gentry-Newell & Vaughan Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the home.

CREEDMOOR — Virginia Anne Neville Forbes, 75, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Whitmore Retirement Center in Oxford.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 23, at Carolina Memorial gardens by the Rev. Gene Wood.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford and at other times at the home of her daughter.

RALEIGH — Artelia Mae Dunston Hope, 63, of 4701 Caldera Lane No. 303, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Raleigh.

NORLINA — Florence Montague, 93, of 291 Carrie Dunn Road, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Warren Hills Nursing Facility in Warrenton.
