Leatrice C. Paschall

HENDERSON — Leatrice Crumpler Paschall, 88, of 1639 Oakdale Circle, Henderson, died Monday, May 12, 2014, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Nebraska B. “N.B.” and Maude Royal Crumpler.

She was the widow of James Lewis Paschall Sr.

Mrs. Paschall was a homemaker. She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church, the church choir and the Mary V. White Sunday School Class.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Flat Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Cathy Hoyle.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Katherine Paschall of the home; a son, James Lewis Paschall Jr. of Raleigh; a sister, Betty C. Marino of Bryson City; and a brother, Norman B. Crumpler of Durham.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Thurman D. Crumpler, Herman Crumpler and Stanford Crumpler.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home, 1639 Oakdale Circle, Henderson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Flat Rock United Methodist Church, c/o Virginia Parrott, Financial Secretary, 1380 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, NC 27537.

Mary W. Schneider

HENDERSON — Mary Jane Woody Schneider, 86, of 128 Snow Hill Road, formerly of Henderson, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, in Ayden.

Born in Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edmond and Hozetta Shepard Woody.

Mrs. Schneider was a retired telephone operator at Carolina Telephone and Telegraph Company. She was a member of Flat Rock United Methodist Church and was a life member of the North American Fishing Club.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 15, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Flat Rock United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Cathy Hoyle.

Surviving are four daughters, Maria Morris of Grifton, Pamela S. Gibbs of Tampa, Fla., Robin S. Hutchinson of Warrenton and Chris Wortham of Henderson; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Chris and Al Wortham, 313 Cheatham Mabry Road, Henderson, NC 27537.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Flat Rock United Methodist Church, c/o Virginia Parrott, Financial Secretary, 1380 Horseshoe Bend Road, Henderson, NC 27537.

A private burial will be held by the family.

OXFORD — Elizabeth “Betty” Paschall Lane, 67, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at her home.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today, May 14, in the chapel of Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford by the Rev. Sam Brewer. Burial will be in Stovall Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation was Tuesday, May 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
