Willie H. Casper Jr.
MINERAL WELLS, Texas — Willie Herbert Casper Jr., 93, passed away June 1, 2014, in a Mineral Wells hospital.
He was born April 24, 1921, in Kenly, the son of Willie Herbert and Maude Ellen Moore Casper.
He married Gertraud Elisabeth Rau “Traudi” on January 8, 1955, in Fayetteville, and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2007.
He was a retired colonel in the U.S. Army after 28 years of service. He retired as deputy commander of Fort Wolters. He served as the bank public relations officer of First National Bank for 15 years. He served for many years as a volunteer for Boyce Ditto Public Library and the Mineral Wells ISD. He served as mayor of Mineral Wells, Texas, from 1986-1992.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014, at First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery.
Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.
He is survived by his son, William Otto Casper of Mesquite, Texas; granddaughters, Erika Castro of Humble, Texas, and Jennifer Casper of Mesquite, Texas; grandson, Josh Wilburn of Mesquite, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Don W. and Sara Casper of Cary; sister and brother-in-law, June and Charles Cates of Garner; and many nieces and nephews in North Carolina.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Irene T. Watkins
HENDERSON — Irene Thomas Watkins, 84, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
Born in Mecklenburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Oscar Thomas and Lillie Winfree Thomas. She was the widow of Walter Calvin Watkins.
Mrs. Thomas was a retired owner and operator of a child day care center. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wilbert Horton. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens.
Surviving are two sons, Calvin Watkins of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, and Randy Watkins of Goodyear, Arizona; a sister, Dot Perdue of Salisbury, Maryland; five grandchildren, Randel Watkins, Ryan Watkins, Emily Watkins, Chris Watkins and Josh Watkins; and two great-grandchildren, Jase Watkins and Caydence Watkins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gracie Watkins, Annie Jay Robins and Mary Thomas, and a brother, Raymond “Buck” Thomas.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the fellowship hall at Bible Baptist Church.

OXFORD — Jimmy Cozart Jr., 50, of 502 Linden Ave., died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Duke Medical Center.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, in the chapel of Betts & Son Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5, at the funeral home.

HENDERSON — Clara Weibusch Crider, 83, of 65 Morning Glory Lane, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at Raleigh Road Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall at Raleigh Road Baptist Church.

HENDERSON — Denise Moulden, 60, of 633 Hillside Ave., died Friday, May 30, 2014, at Kerr Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral will be held at noon Friday, June 6, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service.
Viewing will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 5, in the funeral home chapel.
