Phyllis F. McCord
HENDERSON — Phyllis Ford McCord, 88, of 1245 Park Ave., Henderson, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.
Born in Kewanee, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John Wilson Ford and Elsie Hurlbutt Ford. She was the widow of Howard H. McCord.
Mrs. McCord was a homemaker. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Kathryn Johnson and the Rev. Henry Lovelace.
Surviving are two daughters, Candice R. Grooms and husband, Tim, of Gastonia, and Jacqueline R. Hartnett of Blue Springs, Mo.; two sons, David L. Westlin of Nixa, Mo., and Robin D. Westlin of Kansas City, Kan.; a step-brother, Bud E. Ford of Bellevue, Neb.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, from 1 to 2 p.m., at Tabernacle United Methodist Church. All other times, they will be at the home of Candy and Tim Grooms, 271 Bonanza Trail, Clarksville, VA 23927.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Townsville Volunteer Fire Department, 12729 N.C. Hwy 39 North, Henderson, NC 27537; or to the Mecklenburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1539, Clarksville, VA 23927.

Jimmie D. McDonald
CREEDMOOR — Jimmie Dale McDonald, a longtime resident of Creedmoor, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at his home.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Boyd McDonald of the home; one step-daughter; one brother, David McDonald of Durham; a niece; and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol McDonald and Brenda McDonald.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013, in South Granville Memorial Gardens on Old 75 in Stem. Visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor, prior to the graveside.
Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor is assisting the McDonald family.
