Gary W. Overton

HENDERSON — Gary Wilson Overton, 60, of 1409 Parker Lane, Henderson, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Born in Vance County, he was the son of the late Thomas William Overton and Ernestine Parham Overton.

Mr. Overton was a retired mechanic at Griffin Motors in Louisburg and was a former employee of Standard Motor Parts.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Shocco United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Alfred Ayscue. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Surviving are a sister, Carolyn O. Talley of Clarksville, Va., her daughter, Tammy R. Bailey, and her grandchildren, Ben and Nick; a brother, Timothy T. Overton of Nashville, Tenn., and his children, Meredith Overton, Katie Overton, Cole Overton, and Caleb Overton; an aunt, Annie Louise O. Robertson of Henderson; and a nephew, Bruce House of Destin, Fla.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda O. House.
The family will receive friends Monday, June 24, 2013, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Flowers Funeral Home. All other times, they will be at the home, 1409 Parker Lane, Henderson.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Hillman Floyd, Andy Garrett, Noel Robertson, Donnie Robertson, Clint Francis and Mike Twisdale.

Arrangements are by Flowers Funeral Home.

HENDERSON — Marie Williams, 70, of 2155 U.S. 158 Bypass, died June 21, 2013, at Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Davis-Royster Funeral Service.

Virginia P. Tuck

OXFORD — Virginia Pennell Tuck, 60, a longtime resident of Granville County, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at Toney Nursing Home in Oxford.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., today, June 23, 2013, in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Sam Brewer. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m., prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
