Stephanie D. Sheets

HOPE MILLS — Mrs. Stephanie Dickerson Sheets, 40, of Hope Mills, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Stephanie was born July 22, 1973, in Henderson and was baptized at West End Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Pine Forest Senior High School’s Class of 1991. She enjoyed playing tennis and was a member of the high school team. She attended East Carolina University. She was married to her loving husband, Gerald Sheets, on Sept. 24, 1994.

Stephanie enjoyed her career in retail management. She managed Spencer’s Gifts in Cross Creek Mall for 16 years and enjoyed eight years with her father, Bill Dickerson, at Spirit Halloween. She truly loved her job and coworkers, who held a special place in her heart.

Stephanie was a kind and loving soul who valued her husband and family above all else in her life. Each year she looked forward to vacationing with them and creating new life-long memories with her ever expanding family. Stephanie and her husband enjoyed catching the latest movies, were avid concert-goers and spent most nights working together building Coca-Cola jigsaw puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her three children, Kayla Leigh Sheets, Cody Wayne Sheets and Cambell Jack Sheets; maternal grandparents, Ben and Janie Brame; and paternal grandparents Maurice and Eva Dickerson.

She is survived by her parents, Bill and Carolyn Dickerson; her loving husband, Gerald Sheets; sister, Angela Dickerson; two brothers, Preston Dickerson and his wife Cindi and Ashley Dickerson and his wife Mollie Elizabeth; three nieces, Brittany, Amber and Summer; two nephews, Blake and Colton; one great-nephew, Hayden; two dogs, Sheba and Lucy; one cat, Oscar; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to family, friends and all the staff at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for the kind and compassionate care they extended during Stephanie’s time there and for the prayers, love and support.

Visitation will be held today, June 6, 2014, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rogers and Breece Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Arrington officiating. Burial will follow in Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive family and friends after the services at the home of Bill and Carolyn Dickerson, 3605 Lake Forest Road, Hope Mills.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Friends of Children, P.O. Box 87526, Fayetteville, NC 28304.

John D. Williford Jr.

OXFORD — John Dillard Williford, Jr., 77, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Wednesday, June 4th, 2014 at Granville Medical Center.

He was the son of the late John “J.D.” Dillard Williford Sr. and Eunice Wilson Williford. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a graduate of Guilford College. He was a retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, retired from Revlon, and owned the Orpheum Theater for several years.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church by Father William Long. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Doris Scroggs Williford; a son, John Dillard Williford III, and a daughter, Lisa Williford Williams (Steve), both of Oxford; two grandsons, Justin and Ryan Williams; two brothers, Robert “Bob” Williford (Arlene) and Danny Williford (Judy), all of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Williford.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Community Hospice, 1242 Dabney Drive, Henderson, NC 27536.

Visitation will be held today, June 6, 2014, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with a Recital of the Rosary at 8:30 p.m. at Eakes Funeral Home in Oxford.

HENDERSON — Demurest Hawkins Bullock, 80, of 456 Carver School Road, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at her residence.

HENDERSON — Rebecca Ann Durham, 46, of 287 N. Lee Ave., died Monday, June 2, 2014, at Maria Parham Medical Center.

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at St. Paul United Church of Christ by the Rev. Henry Johen. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. today, June 6, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family is receiving friends at the residence.

HENDERSON — Era Belle Crawford Ellis, 92, of 505 Powell St., died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at St. James Missionary Baptist Church by Pastor William Clayton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing is from noon to 8 p.m. today, June 6, in the chapel of Davis-Royster Funeral Service and at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel and all other times at the home.

Minnie B. Lewis

LOUISBURG — Minnie B. Lewis, 91, formerly of Warren County, died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Macon by the Rev. Don Stith. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Viewing is from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, June 6, in the chapel of Boyd’s Funeral Services in Warrenton.
