Planning Board approves rezoning for proposed housing development

Apr. 07, 2014 @ 07:10 PM

The Henderson Planning Board gave quick approval to a request to rezone 10.5 acres off Vicksboro Road.

Kevin Connelly, president of Connelly Development, had requested that zoning be changed from low-density residential to moderate-density residential to accommodate a proposed housing development. This would allow more people to live in the same area.

Connelly submitted written opinions that the development could be adequately handled by the sewage system.

In moving for approval of the request, planning board member Jimmie Ayscue said the housing development would be a good addition to the area.

“We need all the development we can get,” he said.

The motion was approved unanimously.

There being no additional business to transact, the board adjourned.
