Deputies file drug, weapon charges against six
Narcotics unit investigators and Vance County sheriff’s office deputies executed two search warrants and arrested six Henderson men this week, according to statements released on Friday.
Arrested were Melvin Jordan Jr., Robert Pendergrass, Frederick Wiggins, Stacey Alfondo Strong, Omar Fowler and Array Keyon Fuller. The arrests were made on Monday and Wednesday at two locations, and believed to be related to an ongoing investigation into an organized illegal drug trafficking enterprise.
Each of the six are scheduled to appear in Vance County District Court on Jan. 27.
Jordan, 41, was arrested after a search of his 618 Park Avenue home on Wednesday. Pendergrass, 62, and Wiggins, 24, listed the same address and were also arrested on Wednesday.
Jordan faces charges of opium or heroin trafficking, two counts of possession with intent to deliver and two counts of maintaining a dwelling for drug trafficking. Bond was set at $100,000.
Pendergrass and Jordan each face charges of possession with intent to deliver and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drug purposes. Pendergrass’ bond was set at $20,000 and Wiggins’ bond was set at $10,000.
Monday’s three arrests followed execution of a search warrant at 520 Whitten Avenue. Strong and Fowler list the Whitten Avenue address and Fuller is listed at 563 Grant Street.
Strong faces charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drug trafficking. Bond was set at $25,000.
Fowler faces charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine and maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for drug trafficking. His bond was set at $15,000.
Fuller is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $10,000.
