A single-car crash Friday on Raleigh Road near Henderson flipped a car on its side and sent the driver to the hospital with what appeared to be non-threatening injuries.

Responders had to cut the roof off of the silver Chevrolet Cobalt in order to safely remove the driver. According to State Trooper Joseph Thomas, the northbound Cobalt flipped after leaving the roadway to the right and hitting a ditch in the yard across from First Street.

“She was pinned inside,” Thomas said.

Thomas said that witnesses he interviewed indicated the Cobalt crashed on its own.

“Witnesses said they saw only one vehicle,” he said.
