Husband stabbed to death south of Oxford
OXFORD — A 35-year-old man was stabbed early Wednesday at his home on Belltown Road, south of the city, and died later at Granville Medical Center.
Rotonya Russell, 40, of 4238 Belltown Road, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of second-degree murder in the stabbing of her husband, Carlos.
Granville County Sheriff Brindell Wilkins said the couple was having an argument around 2:30 a.m. that ended with the husband fatally stabbed.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
“She ended up stabbing him in the neck and as a result he died,” he said.
The stepdaughter of the victim witnessed the incident and contacted law enforcement.
“I hate that a child was there seeing this,” Wilkins said.
