Husband stabbed to death in Oxford
OXFORD — A 35-year-old man was stabbed early Wednesday at his home on Belltown Road and died later at Granville Medical Center.
Rotonya Russell, 40, of 4238 Belltown Road, was arrested Wednesday on a charge of second-degree murder in the stabbing of her husband Carlos.
Granville County Sheriff Brindell Wilkins said the couple was having an argument around 2:30 a.m. that ended with the husband fatally stabbed.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
“She ended up stabbing him in the neck and as a result he died,” he said.
Wilkins said the couple’s 15-year-old daughter witnessed the incident and contacted law enforcement.
“I hate that a child was there seeing this,” he said, adding the daughter is staying with other family.
