Owners of bicycles sought by Henderson police
Henderson police are trying to get bicycles to rightful owners.
The items are unclaimed and have been in the department’s possession for more than 60 days. Some were property in cases disposed of in the judicial system, and others are no longer considered evidence.
According to Lt. Christopher Ball, the department is trying to allow about 30 days for owners to stake their claims.
When doing so, owners will need to provide a description, serial numbers or reasonable proof of ownership.
Bicycles unclaimed will be administratively forfeited and disposed of according to law, according to Ball. Some will be donated to a charitable organization.
For more information, or to begin the claim process, visit the police department at 200 Breckenridge Street in downtown Henderson or call (252) 438-4141.
