Judge schedules hearing for December

WARRENTON — Tyrie Sequan Gonzalez, facing a charge of manslaughter, was in Warren County Superior Court and is now scheduled for a Dec. 2 followup hearing.

Gonzalez, out on $120,000 bond, appeared Monday in front of Judge George Collins Jr. Gonzalez, a 31-year-old listed as residing at 1101 U.S. 1 North in Norlina, is charged in the Aug. 24 shooting of Alton Harris, a 22-year-old acquaintance from South Hill, Va.

Gonzalez appeared alongside defense attorney David Waters to hear the status of his case.

The hearing in December will be matters of sharing evidence and preparation either for a plea arrangement or trial.

According to Warren County Sheriff Johnny Williams, the shooting that killed Harris took place at Gonzalez’ residence at shortly before 1:24 p.m., the time that deputies noted receiving the call to respond.

Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.
