No bond for Henderson teenager
A Henderson teenager charged with murder in the May 4 shooting death of LaDarrius Talley on Lincoln Street was denied bond Wednesday in Vance County Superior Court.
Following a hearing last month in which the case against 18-year-old Shakeem Delshon Barnes was declared not to be a capital offense, a motion was filed seeking bond in the case.
Judge Robert Hobgood declined the motion and ordered Barnes held without bond. Barnes is also charged with attempted armed robbery in the case.
Police believe Barnes shot Talley to death in the 100 block of Lincoln Street, where the vehicle Talley was driving crashed into a brick pillar and fence.
Talley was found at the crash scene inside the car, and he was pronounced dead the scene.
Barnes, of 1901 Vicksboro Road, Lot 31, was arrested May 8. According to Henderson police Lt. Alan Hedgepeth, the Oxford Police Department assisted Henderson police in Barnes’ arrest at a 208 Maple St. residence in Oxford.
Henderson investigators arrested a second man on an attempted robbery charge in the case. Rodriguez Antoin Crudup, a 26-year-old known as “Driguez,” also faces a charge of taking an unknown amount of cash from Talley while armed with a handgun, but he is not charged with murder.
