Warrant leads to drug arrest

Officers executed a search warrant Saturday that led to a host of charges.

Members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit and the Vance County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit performed the search at 195 Manor Lane and located 23 oxycontin pills, 116 grams of marijuana, one-quarter kilogram of cocaine, 50 grams of crack cocaine and two handguns.

Rashod Maurice Richmond, 33, of 195 Manor Lane, was charged with trafficking in cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine; manufacturing cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana; manufacturing marijuana; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver oxycontin, a Schedule 1 controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and maintaining a dwelling for selling controlled substances.

Richmond was placed in the Vance County Jail under a $250,000 secured bond pending a July 1 court hearing.
