Name change, added benefits
The former Jameson Inn on 400 North Cooper Drive has been converted to Baymont Inn and Suites, a nationally branded hotel owned by the Wyndham Hotel Group.
The change was official on Dec. 5, but transformations began shortly after the first of the year.
General Manager Greg Anderson has been at the hotel for six years, and with property management group Channel Point Hospitality LLC for 10 years.
“We’re really excited about it,” Anderson said. “It’s been a long time coming.”
With a new affiliation, the former Jameson Inn, a regional hotel chain, has now become a national hotel chain, providing customers with added benefits.
“There will be changes in the rooms, breakfast menu, new rewards programs for the property,” Anderson said. “With the affiliation we’ll have access to those things now.”
Anderson believes guests will appreciate added luxuries that have come with a new hotel name.
“I think guests that have been staying with us in the past are going to see the added benefits going forward,” Anderson said. “With the new affiliation they’ll get a lot more bang for their buck, more kick back, value.”
