Free concert Friday in Henderson
The Northeast Piedmont Chorale will present a program of Christmas music at concerts in Henderson and Raleigh this weekend.
Friday, the chorale will sing at The Church of the Holy Innocents on Chestnut Street in Henderson at 8 p.m.
At 7 on Saturday night, the chorale will perform at Renaissance Funeral Home at 7615 Six Forks Road in Raleigh.
The program for both concerts includes John Rutter’s “Gloria” and “The Many Moods of Christmas,” arranged by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett.
The concerts are free. They are gifts to the community from the chorale, The Church of the Holy Innocents and Renaissance Funeral Home.
Sue Crocker, assistant minister of music at First Baptist Church in Henderson, directs the chorale. The accompanist is David Fitzgerald, minister of music at Wake Forest Baptist Church.
The chorale is celebrating its 27th year of providing free concerts of fine choral music for the residents of the Northeast Piedmont area of North Carolina. A non-profit organization, the chorale includes singers from throughout the counties north and east of the Triangle.
