A Bullock man’s child rape case has been forwarded to Vance County Superior Court, according to court clerks.

Clarence Adrian Royster, 34, of 4592 Buckhorn Road, waived a preliminary hearing in District Court scheduled for Monday, and his case file has been sent to Superior Court for processing.

Court clerks also indicated he was on a list of expected cases to be heard by the July session of the Superior Court grand jury. At press time, there was no confirmation of any action yet taken.

Royster is the uncle of a 14-year-old victim in the case.

According to Superior Court case information, he faces two charges of statutory rape of a child and a charge of indecent liberties with a child.

Originally, Royster had also been charged with incest with a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to police reports.

According to a police report, Royster is accused of taking the teen to the Sleep Inn Motel on Market Street and giving her alcoholic beverages before being involved with her sexually.

Vance County jail officials said Royster had posted bond for his release. His bond had been originally set at $300,000.

A new date for scheduled hearings in the case was not available.

Royster’s name did not appear on a docket list for case management system first-setting cases due for hearings starting July 23.
