Crime Stoppers offers rewards for recent incidents
Henderson-Vance Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to arrests on a home invasion and a burglary in the city and a major larceny incident in the county.
According to the Henderson Police Department the home invasion occurred Jan. 29 at about 6:30 p.m., at 720 David St., off of Main Street near North Henderson Park.
The owner of the home told police two black males with guns broke into her home, both wore dark clothing and one had a red winter hat on.
Police officers investigated a burglary that was reported on the morning of Jan. 28 at Hard Times Pawn, 106 Dabney Drive, noting entrance had been made through the roof.
According to police reports, one or more burglars took several gold chains during the incident. Store managers said the incident took place some time overnight.
Vance County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the theft of more than a dozen heavy equipment batteries taken from logging equipment parked in a wooded area off Gillburg Road.
The 14 heavy equipment batteries belonging to J&J Logging of J.P. Taylor Road, Henderson, were noticed missing on Feb. 4, with company staff reporting that the batteries must have been taken during the previous night.
