Industrial facilities expansion on agenda in Granville

OXFORD — On Monday evening, the Granville County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing to receive residents’ views on a proposal to encourage the location and expansion of industrial facilities in the county.

Director of Economic Development Bill Edwards will present an overview of the project. After the public hearing, the commissioners will consider approving the incentive.

Public hearings will also be held on requests to rezone two properties on U.S. 15 north of Oxford.

Creedmoor Mayor Darryl Moss will present an update on Creedmoor’s relationship with county government and the South Granville Water and Sewer Authority.

The board will consider approving a recommendation by the Granville Health System Board of Trustees to renovate Professional Park Drive.

The commissioners will also consider:

• A proclamation for the bicentennial of the War of 1812.

• A resolution of appreciation recognizing businesses and industries in Granville County.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. at the Granville County Expo & Convention Center on U.S. 15 south of Oxford.
