Public hearing set for Granville County budget

OXFORD — Granville County residents will have a chance on Monday evening to give the board of commissioners their views on the proposed 2013-2014 budget.

The commissioners will hold a public hearing on the budget during their regular meeting, which will begin at 7 p.m. in the Granville County Expo and Convention Center.

In regular business, the board will consider awarding a contract to build two express libraries. Three bids were received.

The commissioners will also review bids the county received to refurbish the elevator and enhance the fire alarm system in the Granville County Courthouse.

In other business, the commissioners will consider appointments to the board of adjustment, the jury commission and the Kerr Area Transportation Authority.
