Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity Inc. is seeking nominations for a first-time award, the Professional Woman of the Year.

Nominees include women living or working in Vance, Franklin, Warren or Granville counties who consistently go above and beyond the expectations of her position for the betterment of the community.

The award will be presented by FVW Opportunity, Inc.’s Women’s Economic Equity Council at the Success Becomes Her luncheon and expo on May 22.

The Women’s Economic Equity Project is a comprehensive program designed to usher women into successful careers in health care. Through a variety of services, the WEE Project equips participants with the tools and skills necessary to obtain and maintain economic self-sufficiency while expanding their personal and professional horizons.

“I’m super excited about it,” said Jennifer Gregory, director of family resources and special projects at FVW. “We’ve already received several very strong nominations, so it looks like others are excited too.”

According to Gregory, all nominations will be presented at the luncheon, held at Vance-Granville Community College’s Civic Center, and the winner will receive a trophy and gift.

Nomination forms are available online at fvwopp.com until May 10.
