Police seize heroin, crack and arrest one at Henderson motel
Police arrested a Henderson man after seizing heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana in a room at the Budget Host Inn on July 1.
Members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant at 1727 N. Garnett St., Henderson, following complaints of illegal drug sales at that location.
Ronald Mokey Harrison, 35, of 140 S. Elizabeth St., Henderson, was arrested July 1 on charges of possessing heroin with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver; possessing heroin; maintaining a place for keeping and selling controlled substances; possessing cocaine with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver; and simple possession of marijuana.
During the search, officers located 130 bindles of heroin, 4.2 grams of crack cocaine and a small quantity of marijuana, according to the Henderson Police Department.
At the street level, heroin is sold in bindles, or small pieces of aluminum foil or cellophane containing one-tenth gram or less, according to the National Drug Intelligence Center.
Harrison was jailed in Vance County after failing to post a $30,000 secured bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Vance County District Court on Tuesday, July 8.
