Third arrest in Monday homicide
The Henderson Police Department has made a third arrest related to the shooting death of a convenience store clerk late Monday night.
Dontrell Jaquan Hargrove, 22, of 464 Skenes Ave., Henderson, was arrested Friday. He faces charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of accessory after the fact to first-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of 55-year-old Ahmed Shahit.
Shahit was an immigrant from Yemen who is survived by his wife, six children and three grandchildren, according to his obituary.
Hargrove was jailed in Vance County on $150,000 secured bond and scheduled to appear in Vance County District Court on Monday.
Daiquan Jameek Waddell and Marvin Hargrove Jr. were arrested with connection to the case earlier this week. Each was charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon and one count of second-degree kidnapping.
Waddell’s preliminary hearing is April 21. Marvin Hargrove is scheduled to be in court Monday.
Waddell was also linked to four armed robberies in an eight-day span when he was arrested.
The Vance County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation were part of the investigations with Henderson police.
