When Warren County’s tally finally came in, the results featured an upset in one of the county commissioner races.

In District 3, Democratic incumbent Ruby Downey lost her seat to challenger Victor Hunt, who took nearly 55 percent of the vote to Downey’s 25.5 percent. Gary Morgan and Andy Riggleman trailed with 11 percent and 9 percent, respectively.

In District 2, which had no incumbent, Tare “T” Davis beat Richard Wilkins by 618 votes in the Democratic primary.

In District 4, incumbent Democrat Bertadean Baker handily beat challenger Charles Ayscue by nearly 1,300 votes.

Sheriff Johnny Williams will retain his post as the county’s top lawman, beating challenger Greg Ayscue by more than 2,000 votes.

All three school board members — Henry L. Durham Jr., Lynne Lassiter and Calvin Curtis Jones — all ran unopposed and will hold on to their positions.
